The World of Chakras

Chakras

Chakras [chuhk-ruhs] are energy centers in the *subtle body that are used in a variety of meditation and yoga techniques, as well as religious practices.

Chakras are located along the spine and are often pictured as lotuses. Chakras distribute the flow of prana or the invisible energy throughout the body. Prana, or the ultimate pure healing energy that is all around us and within us, to keep us healthy, happy, vibrant and alive.

The chakra system originated in India between 1500 and 500 BC in the oldest text called the Vedas. The Vedas are the earliest Sanskrit literary records and the most ancient scriptures of Hinduism. As for the purpose of the seven chakras: they each correspond to specific organs as well as physical, emotional, psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being while influencing all areas of your life.

The Ultimate Pure Healing Energy That

Keeps Us Healthy, Happy, Vibrant and Alive

While there isn’t much Western scientific evidence that translates spiritual energy into physical manifestations, the study of the seven chakras and chakra alignment—whether it be through meditation, reiki, or yoga—is rooted in the belief is that when the chakras are open and aligned, our energy is constantly free-flowing, allowing prana to flow through them.

Hiroshi Motoyama, Ph.D. the author of the book ‘Theories of the Chakras: Bridge to Higher Consciousness’ states that chakras are energy centers that current scientific technology has not detected because they lie beyond the physical level. “In each person, one chakra is naturally more active than the others, but which one it is differs from person to person according to the individual’s karma and and nature.”

Before We Can

Dive Deep

Into Each Chakra

We Need To

Know The Basics

There are seven chakras positioned throughout our body, starting at the base of the spine extending to the crown of your head, each corresponds to massive nerve centers in the body. Each chakra has a different purpose, corresponding to specific physical, emotional, and spiritual states of being.

Each of the seven main chakras contain bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being. Since everything is moving, it’s essential that our seven main chakras stay open, aligned, and fluid. If there is a blockage, energy cannot flow.

Why Should Chakras Be Balanced

When we experience blockages or imbalance in our chakras, our mind, body, and spirit begin to suffer. Chakra balancing is the process of restoring harmonious and balanced flow of prana throughout the body. When our chakras are well balanced, it brings feelings of well being, relaxation, stability, and embodiment of our self.

Think of chakras as invisible, rechargeable batteries. Sometimes chakras become blocked because of stress, emotional or physical problems. If the body’s ‘energy system’ cannot flow freely it is likely that problems will occur. The consequence of irregular energy flow may result in physical illness and discomfort or a sense of being mentally and emotionally out of balance.

Practicing daily awareness of our chakra balances allows energy to flow more smoothly, improving our mood and energy. Chakra Oil Blends combine the therapeutic benefits of essential oils and the energetic properties of gemstones to aid us in opening and balancing our chakras along with meditation, exercise, sleep and eating well.

By following my blog series on chakras,

we will explore each of the seven main chakras

in depth as well as learn tips on how to align them.

The Chakra System

A Clue To Aligning The Chakras

Awareness to which of our chakras are out of balance is key to aligning them. Our bodies are in constant flux between balance and imbalance. Unless we have an apparent problem in one area of the body, imbalances can be difficult to detect. That being said, it’s good to bring awareness to our body/mind and start to learn its signals and clues.

Since mind, body, soul and spirit are intimately connected, awareness of an imbalance in one area will help bring the others back in balance. For example, frequent constipation can indicate a blockage in the first chakra. A recurring sore throat leaves clues to a blocked fifth chakra. Frequent headaches around the area of the forehead may mean your sixth chakra is blocked.

Chakras Of Matter

The first three chakras, starting at the base of the spine are chakras of matter. They are more physical in nature.

1st Chakra: The Muladhara is the chakra of stability, security, and our basic needs. It encompasses the first three vertebrae, the bladder, and the colon. When this chakra is open, we feel safe and fearless.

2nd Chakra: The Svadhisthana chakra is our creativity and sexual center. It is located above the pubic bone, below the navel, and is responsible for our creative expression.

3rd Chakra: The Manipura chakra means lustrous gem and it’s the area from the navel to the breastbone. The third chakra is our source of personal power.

The Chakra Between

Matter and Spirit

4th Chakra: Located at the heart center, Anahata unites the lower chakras of matter and the upper chakras of spirit. The fourth is also spiritual but serves as a bridge between our body, mind, emotions, and spirit. The heart chakra is our source of love and connection.

When we work through our physical chakras, or the first three, we can open the spiritual chakras more fully.

Chakras Of Spirit

5th Chakra: Vishuddha, located in the area of the throat. This is our source of verbal expression and the ability to speak our highest truth. Which includes the neck, thyroid, and parathyroid glands, jaw, mouth, and tongue.

6th Chakra: Ajna is located in between the eyebrows. It is also referred to as the “third eye” chakra. Ajna is our center of intuition. We all have a sense of intuition but we may not listen to it or heed its warnings. Focusing on opening the sixth chakra will help you hone this ability.

7th Chakra: Sahasrara “thousand petal lotus” chakra is located at the crown of the head. This is the chakra of enlightenment and spiritual connection to our higher selves, others, and ultimately, to the divine. It is located at the crown of the head.

Thoughts

While studying the 7 Chakras, I participated with everything suggested. Truthfully to my surprise, I feel so much better, I Feel Great!

Healthy Metamorphosis, suggests giving the 7 Chakras a try. Possibly making this a part of your daily life.

Overview

There are seven main chakras, starting from the base of the spine, aligning through to the crown of the head. They are the seven energy centers that exist in each of us. These swirling wheels of energy correspond to massive nerve centers in the body. Each of the seven main chakras contain bundles of nerves and major organs as well as our psychological, emotional, and spiritual states of being. While the concept seems mystical the good news is that you can be in control of more aspects of your life than you ever imagined, if you just get to know them better.

*subtle body (suˑ·tl bôˑ·dē),

In Tibetan medicine, a network of energy channels that transport energy derived from oxygen-, sensory-, and food derived nutrients. This network lies parallel to the blood vessels and nerves in the body; it facilitates and coordinates the movement of the flow of blood and neural impulses. It is not an anatomical system such as the cardiovascular or nervous

system and cannot be viewed conventionally. Instead, it is accessed through practice of imagination and visualization that can be accomplished through meditation.
